I went to OBX in June one year. It was not warm. The highest it got while I was there was 70 with the wind chill of the upper 50's. Most of the week I was there, the wind chill was in the mid 40's. Fuck that shit, all I wanted to know the whole time was why we chose to take summer vacation at a cold ass beach.

June can be like that there. It's a little early. July or August are better.

I would welcome that after a month of any given hot and humid, Midwestern summer.

Considering I was used to going to a beach that was usually 85-90 with a cool breeze blowing, it wasn't great.

I typically go in September. It's perfect that time of year. Not too many other people are there, the weather and water are great, and the food is always on top.

And it's the beginning of off-peak season! Just checking the rental prices at the end of July make my wallet hurt.

One of our friends used to have a condo in Atlantic Beach, NC, that she would let us stay at for free. Last year, she sold it, and we're finally having to realize that going to the beach costs a lot of money. And that kinda sucks.
